Well I have officially missed the first leg of the offshore Allbacore and inshore Calico season due to some unfortunate set backs. Had some old damage done to my hull by the previous owner and the patch which held for several years has started to deteriorate.

The area around the old patch is super soft and in need of some reinforcing, so that means the whole floor and bunk in the cuddy needed to go OUCH. I have always had a slight gas smell in the cuddy and it has been worse this year so I planned on getting to this at the same time.

I figured I could maybe help some people out by sharing what I’m doing to repair my boat and even learn a few things from you guys as well.

Enjoy my pain and suffering!

You can see the stressed fiberglass along the chine, if you get close enough you can see light through the crack, not good...

Now I have access to both the damaged hull and the fuel tank... This was not easy to get out of such a small hole.
