Took the little “Red Drum” out for a two hour fishing trip out of Marina Del Rey this evening with my good buddy Jason “jscrib” The day was rated as “Excellent” on my Garmin GPS handheld, and there was a minor solunar prime-time from 5:30pm to 6:30pm. I was just hoping that the wind wasn't too strong, and fortunately the wind was only blowing about 8-10 knots and the seas weren’t to chopping.

My main goal, besides going bendo, was to test out my new Eagle Cuda 350 GPS/Sonar unit, which is made by Lowrance. I spent over 3 hours last weekend manually inputting 132 separate Santa Monica Bay waypoints into the Cuda 350 from my Garmin handheld. Fortunately, all the waypoint we went to were “dead-nuts” accurate and we proceeded to go WFO Major Bendo!!

Here is a pic of the unit while we were heading back into port, the winds were blowing over 15 knots and we were getting cold and wet.

We made it out to the first spot around 5:25pm, and it was game on with nice Sand Bass and Calico Bass. The bite died down around 7:00pm, but not after we caught over two dozen nice Bass and farmed too many to count while “gloating” before they were in the boat. Remember: “Don’t gloat before they are in the boat”. lol!

Here I am with my first Sandie of the evening.

Then Jason answers with a quality Cloud Bass.

And we did catch some shallow-water Chocolate Bass aka Brown Rockfish aka Bolina.

Had another wfo two hour trip aboard the little aluminum boat that could and only burned 2 gallons of gas. Love-it!!

Till next tide,

Hey C*ckrat...I mean Dockrat, I've never said to anyone, that Jason's hat was too hardcore for FNN. After reading your reply, I think you either have too much time on your hands, or your losing your marbles, or it's just a disconcerted attempt at being funny, or you really need to do some fishing. Hopefully it's the latter.

The water was 63 degrees and there was a little red tide but the fish could care less. The fish were on the chew and just wanted to eat something. HOOK-UP!

Too much time on my hands.
No. Just worked 15 days straight. 3 days off this month.

You wouldn't be the first to say I'm losing my marbles.
Just don't pick on us handicapped guys.

Disconcerted ?
Yeah maybe.
