Can someone suggest a good carp fishing rig and bait. I was using a #6 hook about 12in below a 3/8 once sinker with some home made dough. Had a few bites but nothing hook. Finally got one hooked little after noon. It was a good size fish, had my medium action ugly stick bending like a $5 kiddy pole. Then five feet from shore the fish rolled and unhooked itself. I guess I got too excited and reeled it in too fast, should of let it fight some and get tired out. So any suggestions? By the way, this was at Legg Lake, my first time there. One more thing where are the bluegills at this lake, I didn't see any, only a bunch of tiny fishes swarming near shore, maybe baby bass?

As LuvThymetal says, corn tortillas. Buy a whole pack at 99 cents store.

Look on youtube for the hair rig. learn to tie that and use it with corn or buy/ learn to make your own boilies. This is the only rig i use for carp. The suck up the bait and lastly the hook. Personally I think it is the best rig for carp.
