Have any of you ever tried trolling with spinnerbaits and had any luck?
I'm thinking that they could be used instead of an umbrella rig for trolling with maybe a trailer jig on a 2 foot leader tied to the spinnerbait hook shank.
The reason that I'm asking is because I'm getting ready to make some heavy wire models for the saltwater (.051 and .062 wire) using the Do-it Ultra Minnow mold for the body

I can make them from 1/2oz. up to 4ozs.
I'm just wondering if it's worth the time, money and effort to make them to troll with.
What color skirts would you go with?
