Ventura county shores

Looking for a little advice.
I grew up ocean fishing from boats, and have just recently got more and more into shore fishing.
I am going out Sunday morning for the 7:00am high tide, but just wanted to know if anyone here knows of any good beaches to work in Ventura county. I have done all my shore fishing with my cousin by his house in Malibu, but want to try something a little closer to home (Camarillo, Oxnard beaches). Also if you guys have any suggestions on lures to try. I have only fished with small worms for pearch, but I would like to rig on of my poles up for halibut.

Just a heads up, they are expecting alot of wind up there this weekend so it might make surf fishing a little difficult.

For rigging though, I'd recommend thowing some camo gulp on a 1/2 oz carolina rig in the surf. Don't expect it to be to epic right now though, the water is still super cold. As things warm up, it will only get better. The end of 5th street is good, Hollywood Beach, Emma Wood, State Beaches and Rincon.
