Castaic Lagoon 5/16 Nighttime

I got there kinda later than i wanted because i stayed at work a lil late, But it wasnt even a Big Deal. It was like 12:30 When i caught the first one, A beautiful 4 lb Bass.

Then My roommate Josh pulled out like a 4or 5 pounder like 15 minutes later that snapped his line right as he pulled it out. (HE SHOULDA WAITED TIL I CAME WITH THE NET.) Then we moved around a lil bit just messin around exploring and such, but then i decided enough playin around and i needed to land some more, So i rigged up and about 15 minutes later in the clear shallow water i see two fish come straight for my worm, i gave it the lightest of jerks, and the big one took off with it, so i call for the net, and my two buddies just look at my like im dumb or somethin, and after about 20 more seconds of him just thrashing about, my 6lb test line just snapped. (That didnt bother me much cuz the Fish put up an amazing fight, and i still Won hehe) So then another 30 minutes goes by and i decide i wanna throw a lil deeper, so i did, and after some long pauses and quick tiny jerks, the fight was on once again, Major bend on my Rod and after a 45 second fight i landed my First ever 7.5 Lb largemouth.

My roommate has to get in the pic lol, he lost his only fish before we could get a pic.

Overall though, not bad trip for my first time to the lagoon, Im lookin forward to more trips there, and to the top lake for striped/Largemouth bass

O Ya and i forgot to say, take some bug spray if your going at night, It might just help you out lol.

Nice looking fish especially for your first time to the lagoon. Give the upper a little more time for the water temp to rise and you can get into some good shad boil bites on the lmb and stripers

Ya i cant wait, i rented a couple boats up there before, but that was in like february, i wanna go now lol.

Ya the funny thing is the first time i went to castaic i didnt even know there was a lake there until i walked around for like 3 hours lol. (My car took a $*&@ on the 5 on my way to venice beach like 3 years ago.) Im glad that i went back to the lagoon tho, It was amazing!

Nice catches. Did you release those? The first fish looks dead.....those are big bass, nice to have them back in the gene pool of that small lagoon.
