Fished Newport Dunes/Harbor the past weekend and am looking for a public launch area for Kayaks. Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Has anyone ever had success in the back bay marina that they care to share. I've often thought that area looks very fishable from a float tube but I haven't given it a chance yet...

TIA

Mike

MikeAce00 what part are you talking about? The part of the bay that goes under the Newport Blvd? If so, yeah...I have fished back there with Jimmy Decker from Berkley and caught lots of nice spotties and some halis....I even tube back there once in a while.

Just got to remember that if there is cover and a food source the fish will be there!!!

Seems like lots of eel grass and structure...

I am not sure but I think that is the area that the only floatuber in the Plastic Navy tourney fished and won it with something like 5 bass weighing about 12.7lbs!!!! so yeah there is fish back there.

I tubed back there about two weeks ago on a good incoming tide and caught one small fish a piece for my friend and I...I won't try it agin anytime soon

Not enough water movementback there...

The PCH bridge holds some flatties(near fish market)
