Going to Crowley in July and want to know if anyone has rigged up some sort of umbrella holder for the rental boats there, the sun can be pretty brutal. I want to use a pretty good size umbrella and it would have to be pretty portable and stable. Any and all ideas welcomed.

Thanks

They make umbrellas that clamp onto seats.

Actually, I did this last year. Didn't get a pontoon and had the little one with me. So, I brought a patio umbrella w/ tilt option. I also brought a portable metal base. It worked out pretty good. The tilt option was especially helpful when the sun wasn't directly overhead. Just a heads up though. I used this in mid July. Where the wind didn't come up until 1pm or so. We had good weather. Also, you will need some weight to anchor the base, so it doesn't fall over. I should also say that I did this on their flat bottom boat, not the v hull. When the wind came up, I just cranked it close. If it gets to windy (Mcgee, Hilton, Alligator, Etc.) you can always seek shelter in Crooked creek, where it's not really an issue. Hope this helps.

tunatales, thanks I thought about that, but was thinking more along the lines of some sort of a clamp that i could secure to the bench seat. I was thinking the the lip on the seat, but if i recall it was very small, also if I remember correctly there was not way to put anything under the bench itself as well.

fishfinder, thanks as well but it is for the rental boats

bassn mike, i did look at those, but they may be a bit small, but so far that is the way I am leaning
