So Kevin and Rick have been wanting to get out to DVL so they set up a trip for today 5/10.
For some reason everytime Kevin comes out to the lake with me the weather is Cooooold and windy.
When we launched the boat the wind was already howling. But we didnt care...WE WERE GOING TO SLAY SOME BASS!!!
I told Kevin and Rick that the key today with the howling wind and cold temps was to hit ALOT of spots and make every cast count...and most importantly..Put EVERY bass in the boat that bit!! I told them that we were going to target prespawn and Post spawn bass...as it turned out we caught both types!:Big Grin:
AND WE DID ALL THOSE THINGS TODAY!!!:Big Grin::Big Grin:
I didnt fish at all today...I spent the day keeping the boat in position on all the spots, netted all the bass showed them where to cast.
The result was a 22 largemouth bass day!!!
And 2 smallmouth!!
The big bass of the day was a GIANT Largemouth... the only problem was..IT WAS A POST SPAWNER. It should have weighed 8 lbs but only weighed 5 1/2 lbs.:mad: But it was still a good one. Actually at the same exact time that Rick hooked that post spawn giant, Kevin set the hook on a 4 lb Prespawner off the same spot so that double hookup was cool as youll see in the photos..The prespawner has a nice fat belly and the post spawner has a sunkin in belly but very large head.
All of the bass were caught in 20-30 ft of water...on plastics ...
