Fished about 3:00 to 5:30 this afternoon out of a kayak around the PCH bridge. The tide was not opportune and the bite was slow. Did manage two spotties by the bridge then hooked two more on the docks along the main channel. All were small, with the biggest being 13". I do think I prefer Alamitos Bay, it seems the fish are always bigger and more plentiful.

Not bad for a couple hours of fishing. I've had the best luck for bass up along the docks your talking about and the flatties in the open areas by the bridge and buoy line. :Cool:

Hey dudes how's the shore fishing in this area? are there many places where you can just walk around and fish the docks?

I have only fished the area once last year and had better luck on the spotties deeper in the harbor cover of the docks like Jasuuun stated. In the afternoon we set up in the wind to drift us from the Simple Green Building back across the channel to the bouy line and pick up some short flatties and Sandies!
