Bullets and I headed to our old salty stomping grounds Sunday morning/afternoon. On the way out Bullets talks with CatchThatTrout, and he said he was down to do some fishing as well. We stopped at Big Fish and picked up the usual...ghosties. Once we got to the spot we noticed quite a few people already around, but no one was in our usual area. The fishing was slow to start. Bullets' farmed the first two hits he got. He then asked me to watch his poles while he goes back to the truck. Of course one of his poles gets hit, but since he wasn't close enough by to get it I did it for him. It was the first spottie I've ever caught.

It went rather dead again for a while, but it finally did pick up some just as CTT showed up.

The fight

The end result. A nice buttermouth

It was pretty wide open there for about 20-25 minutes. Every cast we did ended up getting hit no more than 10 seconds after it hit the water. The sucky thing was that we kept getting hung up in the rocks. Our daily total would've been 4 times what it really was. Anyway, I landed a couple BMP also.

Of course CTT had to join in the action. His two BMP were probably the largest of the day between us.

It was no where near epic like we've been accustomed to at that spot, but it was not a bad day by any means. Give it about 6 weeks, and I'm sure the epicness will return.

Oh ya, I was really glad to see that there wasn't anywhere near as much trash as there has been!

Ryan,

Welcome back! Congrats on your first Spottie! Hopefully you will get "Spotted Fever"

Those BMP are a blast on the small rigs.

BTW. In your absence from that location Wingnut and I poached the spot! Arthur had a tremendous battle and proudly showed of his catch!

that's a good place to fish, lots of nice corbina swimming around there.

Might just hit that area up myself. I'll stay away from your guy's spot. ;)

Later, Robert
The young man with the Dodger cap is my Grandson Isaiah (PapasCoco) and the boy in red in my daughter's boyfriend's son Noah.

First off, I want to thank Bullets for sending me a text and inviting me out for such a beautiful day of fishing.
My original plans were to head up to the mountains for some fishing, but the reports of strong winds made me decide to stay close to home, but even Guasti would've been tough to fish because of the winds in the IE.
Once Bullets texted me, I jumped up and told Isaiah, "we're fishing today", packed up the gear and off we went. We stopped at Big Fish for some ghosties and we were there by 1:15, just as Bullets mentions that the bite has started to pick up.
It wasn't long before I landed my first BMP (see report pic), which was a little fatty. A little while later I caught the second BMP on my pole, but can't get the boys to reel it in because they're playing on the rocks (they had a blast exploring) and I can't give the fish a chance to dart into the rock.

Bullets and KDawg decide to leave about 3:45 and I stayed longer, so the boys had a chance to catch something on their poles. I'm glad that I stuck it out longer (until 6:00), because Noah's pole finally had a solid bend, I set the hook and Noah reels in his FIRST saltwater fish ever......a spottie!

About 5:30 Isaiah's pole goes “bendo” and he reels in a BMP to the edge of the rocks, and then it spit the hook, but he got the chance to reel one in and was happy that his pole gave him some action.
It was just a great day, the weather was just right, not to hot, not to cold, a nice constant ocean breeze and the boys and I, hanging with a couple of the best FNN guys.
