Overall, this was the slowest it's been on Crowley in a while for us. We talked to some of our other folks we see each year and it sounded like it was pretty slow across the board. As we are getting older, we're getting lazier and didn't get out until about 8am. We went to all of the usual spots around McGee, Sandy Point and Green Banks and each one seemed to be slow to steady pickings.

We did okay, but caught less than limits. We're usually off of the lake by the early noon, but this time, we stuck it out all day. We were rewarded at the end of the day with 3 browns in a row. The first went almost 4lbs, the second was bout 3 1/2 and the last one was almost 3 lbs. We caught them all in a row after 5 pm.

Hopefully the trout will be waking up in time for the Memorial Weekend.

those are some nice size trout. i would rather catch 3 like that than a bunch of small ones.

I'd take 1 Brown like that over a limit any day of the week!!!! BTW - they taste the same as rainbows, CPR.

Beautiful browns. I've heard that the fishing is a bit slow at Crowley, but, the fish that are caught are larger models. Thanks.

SO thats why people stop at crowley instead of going up to the more beautiful higher elevation lakes. WOW great looking fish.

Whether the main part of my trip is Bridgeport Twins, the Mammoth Lakes, the Loop, Convict...whatever...I always make sure I get at least one day in on Crowley. The healthiest trout in the country.
