WOW, ICE ICE ICE was the story of the 2010 opener. I was able to bring up 5 of my High School Bible Study Guys this year. 2 of them have come the last 4 years and the rookie ended up catching the biggest fish @ 4Lbs. It took us awhile to find the fish with all the Ice but we ended up settling in at the river outlet on Silver lake in the June Loop and flylining Mammothmagic, every fish was caught on Mammothmagic. My big fish was a 3.15lb on sat. and my buddy caught a twin right before me. We ate 10 campfire cooked bows, along with beans, coco, and smores, mmm good. On sun. we caught over 60 fish and it was quite a sight to see all 30 fish that we kept in one basket at the cleaning station WOW! All the Ice was kind of a bummer but then again, it sure was one of the most beautiful years I have ever been up there we were in AWE!!!!. We had an amazing trip and made some great memories and once again I have a glimpse of hope for our next generation these boys were so grateful, helpful, and just full of life. I love it. Until next time keep those lines tight, hooks, sharp, and keep the main thing the main thing. Mammothmagic

Excellent job...especially since most reports out of the Loop (and the entire Eastern Sierras) were mediocre at best. You guys nailed some beauties.

Best report I've seen thus far. If you're ever up in the Bishop Creek area please stop by Parchers or South Lake and show me this mammothmagic stuff....I sell a lot of bait. I hate the name though, why not Sierra Magic? lol!!!

O and yea, if I make it up I definitely will come by. I wanted to come up for the Parchers 57 Event But I will be in Alaska on a free trip me and my partner won fishing the Big Bear Tourny. You guys will have a blast. I have been wanting to Hike up to Long Lake I think it is called, above south lake? HOwever I am moving TO Sri Lanka in July and I will be super busy, but you know I will try. Take Care Sierra Smitty and hopefully we will meet some day.

Sri Lanka? Mission trip?
Yea, I was there On a 10 day layover once so when the tsunami hit in 2004, my wife and I went back to see if all my friends were ok and help in relief work. We fell in love with the village and its people and said one day we will go back for good so here we go, kids and all, so excited and so nervous leaving my comfortable home, good job, great friends, and the fishing of course but we can't wait for this next adventure in our lives.

No, not far at all but Sat. morning we were the first boats on the water so we had to bust through an inch of ice but the boys thought it was fun.
