Sup? fish'n gals and guys,
While I fished the Kiddie Pole fri night my husband was bummed to miss out, he is working in VA, but he was happy to be going out with is co-worker on saturday for some Rockfishing (stripers). His co-worker who is also named Mike has been wanting to get his boat fixed to get out on the water. Finally, boat gets fixed and he invites my husband for a day out on the water. They travel the few minutes to the James River and end up fishing just off Osbourne Landing. They start around 10 a.m. and c-rig some Herring fillets.
His co-worker has the spot and they start pulling in lil stripers and some nice cats, pixs will tell the story.

At the end of the day they pick his wife up for a few hours of fishing, my husband baits her line and she drops it in and a few minutes later her first Rockfish of the day.

They got enough action all day and they ended the day with my husband landing his first ever Rockfish and 4 cats, his co-worker lands several nice cats and the rest stripers, approximately 15 total landed for him. His co-workers wife a nice lil cat and some stripers. They took home a few of the smaller cats for dinner, most were CPR. The lost several and had alot of missed hits. Talk about some action.

The rockfish are spawning so they have regs on them right now, can only take a 36"+ for now. It will go off in a few weeks when the regs are lifted. My husband had fun helping clean the boat off at the end of the day, milking rock fish, lol.
So his first trip out for Rockfish was successful and now that they are finally getting some warm weather and sun they all will be going out more now. My husband has also been doing better shore fishing with the warm weather catching lil cats, LMB, Crappie and his first Pike a baby one, everything is on the small side for now with the cold weather still.

I can't wait to join him at the end of summer so we can attack the bigger models, we are definitley saving up $$ to get some bigger fish'n gear, sweet!
His co-worker has pixs on his digi of him so hopefully he will e-mail them to him soon and I can post up those, so for now NJOY the few pixs he took off his cell of his co-worker and his wife.

Tight lines all..

Troutman 65 - Thanks! glad you enjoyed the read.

Wingnut - Great fishing fo'sho'. Can't wait to move back there, salt and freshwater fishing is gonna be awesome! Can't wait to hit the salt for a Drum, oh yeah!!! I told Mike to just send pixs to me and I will write up his reports, we are trying to come up with a good screen name for him. He is gonna be able to fish more this summer. He was able to attend a fishing show/seminar a week after I visited him for the Holidays and he learned some info about the local fishing. It's cool he was able to go with his co-worker who is an avid fisherman also. You know you are more than welcome to visit us for a fishing weekend anytime my friend, new species to be had. Gar, drum, pike....etc.

murrieta angler - Thanks ma!
