so what is the best setup for rock fishing on a party boat. what bait works the best? currently i use 2 three way swivels with a 6oz torpedo and 2 number 2 hooks. normally use squid and salted chovies. if it makes a diffrence i think its in 200 ft plus

No need for swivels, learn to tie a double dropper loop.

Cory TunaSlam always gets limits on squid strips or whole.

Butterfly jigs are expensize and I feel over rated. They didn't even have Butterfly jigs in your El Dorado days and you still caught fish.

500 size reel w/65lb spectra and a 40lb leader(25 or 30 ft leader). The spectra is so sensitive it feels like your fishing in 10ft of water, helps you detect more bites and get better hook sets. Second setup w/20lb leader and spectra backing. The heavier line is better for fishing rocky structure.

Just tie a couple dropper loops with some torpedo sinkers 6,8, or 10 oz depending on current(sometimes more weight).

Good Luck ...
