Lake Perris and Granson's first bass

Took my 9 yr old Grandson Cameron to Lake Perris to try and have him catch his first bass. Mission accomplished! While he was fishing for Bluegill, because the bass were not hitting for him, he hooked and landed a 14 inch bass! (While using Grampa's ultralight Bluegill rod and 2 lb test line.) I made a few casts and ended up losing a very nice bass when it jumped and threw my lure, but I wasn't really there for me to catch fish, I wanted him to do the fishing. His dad stopped by after work just in time to see him hook the bass and coached him on how to bring it in. We thought at first it was a lot bigger fish. Had a great afternoon.

thats awesome. especially for him to feel the fight on an ultralight set up.

Was out there in a boat last week twice and it was dead. Got a friend on their first bass too. Everyone hounding the east looking for something..

I think I know where that is; it looks like the place where they stuck the old launch ramp docks by the old jetski ramp. There is a chance I might go there tomorrow (still undecided).
