Convict Lake not scheduled for planting for opener

Convict Lake was NOT approved for fish planting for the opener. This will have a huge impact on the upcoming opener and general season if they dont get fish. Some speculated that they would get the OK before the opener. Doesnt appear to be the case. This may the beginning of serious issues on the Eastern Side. One of my favorite waters (Kern River) was finally removed from the DO NOT plant list. Now the Eastern Side is getting the lockdown. This blows

Its more important than ever for fishermen to catch and release this season. If DFG is barred from complete stocking there could be very few fish towards the middle and end of the season.

Nothing makes me madder than to see someone yank a treble hook from a fishes mouth, throw it in the water bleeding for it to later die..

I'm sure this list will be updated prior to the opener. June, Gull and Convict will hopefully make the grade. If they don't - the creeks are going to be LOADED with fish because the DFG has promised to stock the same amount of fish in the region whether or not they are allowed to stock all of the lakes.

I rarely fish the lakes, so I would enjoy a few extra fish in the creeks. But that seems selfish. This is a much bigger issue. Lets hope that common sense will eventually win out. (not holding my breathe)
