I been fishing blindly the past few months on my boat. My fish finder broke a few months ago so and I did not want ante over money to purchase a new one. Luckily, I had metered the whole lake last summer and jotted down some points of interests and that kept me on the fish for awhile. I finally got a new fish finder. It was a heck of deal so I went ahead and bought it. Nothing too special. All I need it for is tell me what level of water the stripers are at and to locate some underwater structure. I was not planning on doing any real fishing, just play with the fish finder and get a couple casts in. That did not happen and I ended up fishing the whole day. Here is how the day went:

After I finished up some work in the morning, I decided to go see how well the new fish finder works. The day was definitely too nice to be working.

I played with the fish finder for a bit and pretty much had it down, so I dropped a piece of bait into the water. After missing two good bites, I hooked into a large unit. While I was fighting the fish, my other rod goes off and I have a solo double going.

Here is the results. One large unit and one schoolie.

Here is my new fish finder. The stripers were schooling up thick. I sat on my underwater hump almost perfectly and it paid off.

Action shot. More schoolies.

Finally a decent size fish amongst the schoolies.

After a steady pick of fish, the bite at my underwater hump fizzed out. So, I went over to the buoy line to try my luck. The new fish finder found a nice batch near a ledge. I dropped down and was instantly rewarded. Hook up!
