I'm looking for an alternative to fish this weekend since Irvine has a zoo of a trout tourney on Sat and a Chili Cook-off on Sunday. Are there bass in Corona? I've never fished there everl. Can you launch a private boat (15 foot Gregor w/ 9.9 hp 2 stroke)? Thanks.

Yeah man there is bass there for sure! all though they have been stocking trout way heavy the last couple months! catfish and sturgon are showing too so you got a good variety of fish to work with. go for that hat trick. i know you can launch there for 8 bucks. good luck ill be out there tomorrow!

There are some real bruisers in there but they are very finicky and hard to catch. I think 2 of the biggest bass in So Cal were C&R there last year. One was almost 17lbs. :EyePop:and the other was 15lbs+. There is also some big crappie as well. They say they get so big because nobody targets them.

Thanks, guys. Is there a lot of flooded brush or trees in the water?

Fish the steep rocky shoreline all on the far side of the lake, from the deeper water at the dam and on down along the shoreline to the brush and trees. Fish Texas rigged plastic worms and blue/black skirted double tail jigs. Fish slow. Can be good at times.

Thanks, all. How high is the water right now? I saw an image on Google Earth (no date on image) and it looks like it was down at the time.
