if you didn't try for opening day every time you could probably still get a spot now. wednesdays are open too with one third of the crowd, if your employment situation allows it. google it catfish 17.

One of the best bassing lakes in all of So Ca., where it's not usual to catch over 100 bass a day several years ago....last year, I didn't do as well with a 2009 PB of 49, my cousin was in the high 50-60's in a float tube.

It's a lake that has trucks and cars lining up at 4 a.m. or earlier, people running down to get their boats and be the first one at their favorite honey hole. A lake so quiet on the water you can hear guys chatting from across the pond, as there's no jet skiers or any private boat sallowed, only the rentals (25 max.). A lake that requires you must be escorted in and out. It's one of the better lakes since we've been fishing it since 1994.

A lake if you get in the right areas, the bass gets wfo with them biting almost anything on the evening bite and we're one of the last boats off the water before the chase boat tells us it's time to head home.

It's not a cheap lake to fish anymore due to the near $90 to get a limited ticket and a $20 per person lake permit fee/day, which typically sells outs fast during the first 2-3 months of the season. But well worth the money, plus you can split the cost of the ticket 4 ways max. with your group or allow others on your ticket (up to a total of 4 persons).

There's such a sub-culture of a lot of the hard core Barrett fisherman, as it's only open a few months. But tickets are easily to get during the hotter summer months. You must fish barbless and all artifical baits, zero live bait.

You can only get tickets thru Ticketmaster and sells the tickets a whole month in advance.

What he said.

If Willy Wonka owned a lake instead of a chocolate factory, this would be it.

And I've got two golden tickets for May. We might see u out there Basscat, as one of them is for the 15th.
