Lake Bolboa (van nuys) 4/11/10

Arrived to a park for some small tilapia fun. Threw night-crawlers for an hour with no bites. My friend went to the other side of the lake and noticed large carps wondering around. Quickly made some home made corn meal and got threw it in. 10 min Bam!!!!!! Huge & Fat Carp. Took me 3 - 4 minutes to bring him in. Sorry did not get a picture but I bet it was at least 10 - 15 pounds. Then my friend hooked another one up, a bit smaller. Both carps had to be freed in the water because we did not bring a net with us, we were unable to bring the carp on to the grass.

Absolutely not! Water in bolboa lake is reclaimed from tilman plant, last thing you want to do is eat fish from there, however I have personally seen people taking fish home from there. Nasty ... eewwww

I just do it for fun. I live 10 min away.

Suprised to see the bottom of the lake. Typically you can't see 4" down.

Good job and catching some big ol carp. I used to fish that lake all the time in the 90's.

sick picture.. my first time there was action as well. but that time we were able to bring it up.. the mouth was a little jacked up but our asian comrads took it home and .. I guess.. ate it??
