I went out to king harbor yesterday for an hour, and got the skunk. It was not a total loss because I got to practice with my new Cardiff 200A and experiment with some new plastics and gulps. I fished on and near the sport fishing pier, and I will probably go again today.

The sportfishing pier is actually a good place to fish. There literally a "bubble hole" there where warm water from the factories a little way dumps out which has a lot of fish near it. Not to mention a couple of years back there was a 200lb. Jewfish just hanging around under the dock.
Good to know. I wonder what a Jewfish would eat...

do they still have the little fly shop/tackle shop that rents out boats to use in the harbor? i think it was next to portofino hotel or something. does the bait barge have any bait right now?
