Does any have any information on current condition of tilapia at Salton Sea?
I remember by this time of last year, there are a few reports for them already.
So far, this year, there is no report for it.
Thanks for any info.

Make sure you watch all of the video. At 7:45 you can see the sewage trucks dumping septic waste.

You are aware that the 2 MOST POLLUTED RIVERS in the USA dump into it and the last 10 years it has gotton ALOT WORSE.

I wouldn't fish that Sea if you paid me and that is from a guy that lived in Brawley for 3 1/2 years.
Beyond nasty. Worked at the Geo Thermal power plant 1/4 mile from the sea. Sometimes the smell of the sea made guys sick.

If you have children keep them away from the Sea.

Forget about the Salton Sea. It's over.

Bring a net and you can scoop dead tilapia by the truck load. No fishing pole needed. The flies are real bad too. Fish the fresh water farm canals.

Typical dead fish along the shore.

We went there last Saturday, 04-17, Salton Sea was surprisingly pleasant, weatherwise. There were some smell in the air from dead fish. However, the dead fish are from the carcass that fisherman discarded, I would presume from the kids and irresponsible fishermen. Most of those, about 10, are small fish, less than a hand size.
We got there by 6 AM, but ended up staying there until 4:30 PM because the fish did not start biting until 10:30-11:00.
Not wide open as expected, but everyone ended up with at least 10, and some got 40-50.
I will definitely come back next weekend.
By the way, DFG was there and there was a group of people did not have any license. Luckily, only 2 of them got cited, instead of all of them. There were 6 of them, only the first two got cited, the rest saw the DFG guy and took off. $850 per ticket. Not a good day for that group.
Also, DFG was checking for 2 rods license also.
Make sure you have your license ready.
Also, some people did not pay the $8 day use fee and got ticketed for that too. So, if you see the sign that you need to pay to get in, pay it.
