Not really sure how to start a 3 week fishin report but I am going to give it a shot. Ugghhhh.... Left San Diego, drove 2 days straight and pulled in to Los Barrilles at Verdugo's Park. We took the toy hauler and the quads. http://fishingnetwork.net/images/tmp2/DSC01709.JPG
Here is the pics of the beach and the hotel where the boats pic up the anglers to go fishin for the day. http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01873.jpg
Another beautiful morning in the Sea of Cortez.
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01878.jpg
Verdugo's Hotel & Park
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01874.jpg
and the famous dock where the fisherman and their catch get dropped at the end of a long day.
Now on to the fish killin, KILL KILL KILL! This trip we took out Cruiser's and Panga's. We must have caught and released 20 beautiful Marlin on this trip. Most people release Marlin which has resulted in much better Marlin fishin, but the long liners are still screwing it up with lots of bi-catch of sea turtles, baby marlin, baby dorado, and much more which sucks.
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01837.jpg
Here is my mom on a Marlin.
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01846.jpg
20 minutes later.....my dad had to help her a little bit.
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01870.jpg
And she finally brought it in, and it was a great release.
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC02219.jpg
My girl on a Marlin
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01899.jpg
My girl's 1st Marlin ever!

My girl, the capitan, and her 2nd beautiful marlin.

Paddy (me) on a Marlin
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC02202.jpg
and there it is!!!
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC02104.jpg
My dad and bro got a hungry one, they caught the same Marlin together. LOL!
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC02118.jpg
Look! It ate both lures!

NOW FOR SOME IN SHORE FISHIN!!!
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01832.jpg
Caught a lot of Rooster's but all about the same size. We released these as well.
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01830.jpg
Caught a lot of Pargo but the good size ones ran us into the rocks.
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01836.jpg
Some Dorado inshore as well.
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC02240.jpg
My girls big dorado

Now for the interesting part. LOL! The **** FIGHTS!!!!!
We went to a few of these while we were down here and we had a blast!
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01964.jpg
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01992.jpg
These are pics of where they put the razor blade on one leg of each rooster.
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01936.jpg
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01937.jpg
First they bring in the two roosters that are going to fight and then they bring a third one in that gets the two ready to fight by getting them pissed off! They get pretty rawled up!
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01947.jpg
And here they go! GO GREEN GO!!!
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01950.jpg
30 seconds later!
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01940.jpg
This rooster cost me $30 bucks. Damn him!
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01956.jpg
But the owner did try really hard to revive him so I felt it was $30 well spent! LOL!
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01915.jpg
But I did win once on the wheel! :D
It is a really cool experience. I recommend that everyone see at least one in their lifetime. They have the whole thing orchistrated like a boxing match. They have a red corner and a green corner. They have rounds that last up to 8 minutes. If both roosters are alive after 8 minutes then no one wins, it's a draw! The winner wins $150 bucks plus the $ he gambles on his own rooster. It's a sad sad day for the looser, but he's got more waiting in a cage on the side lines. He'll be back in 20 minutes to fight his next match. LOL!
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01913.jpg
I think that is my dead rooster in the background.
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01914.jpg

And of course what's a trip without some hard work! My dad shouldn't have listened to me. What do I know about short cuts. LOL!
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01811.jpg
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01812.jpg

Dorado Time!

This is a pic the captian got of my 50 Pound dorado smashing my personal best by 13 pounds. It took me over an hour to bring it in on 30 pound test.
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC02163.jpg
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC02193.jpg
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC02178.jpg
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC02185.jpg
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC02192.jpg
I had to wait a little while because after that one pic of me holding it, the dorado stated to slap the crap out of my leg so that's why it's all bloody. Because I beat it to a bloody pulp. Yarrrr!

TUNA TIME!!!!!!!!!!! KILL, KILL, KILL!!!!
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC02278.jpg
Look at them boil!
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC01907.jpg
http://i64.photobucket.com/albums/h176/bagged71/DSC02284.jpg
One day's work! We were so tired after catchin 53 tuna in 5.5 hours at 50 miles out. My arms were jelly after all those tuna.

Best part of this trip, my parents bought a piece of property 200 yards from the beach. We will be building a house in the next year! Hurray!!!!

Well, thats my story of Baja. Short and Sweet. Remember to KILL KILL KILL!!!!!!

paDDy is not promoting cockfighting. You have to look at this report in perspective. Whether it's cockfighting or Bullfighting....It's part of the heritage of the folks south of the border. It's a way of life that we don't have to agree with but rather have to try to understand. The world is a very diverse place and paDDy brought back that part of the culture from down south and shared it with us. You can't change the diversity of the human race but your time would be better spent trying to understand the roots of different cultures.
One more thing....As far as I know there has not been one killing over a dead bass on this sight yet!
Once again your perspective is very narrow.
First seek to UNDERSTAND....Then to be UNDERSTOOD 8)
Regardless of what you might think...I know paDDy personally and he is a good man and an awesome fisherman worthy of respect!
That's what this board is all about 8)

sorry, but betting on the fights is promoting them. it is not about understanding their culture, it is about respecting life. I wouldnt dream of taking it away from them, but it is theirs. their culture and laws allow for it. ours on the other hand do not. its like going to thailand to bang little boys.

as far as narrow perspective, if that is how you see having conviction enough to speak ones mind about what they percieve as wrong, then by you, i am narrow minded. so was ghandi.

Sorry you got so upset about the roosters, just remember there over
1000 miles away, they raise them to fight, and everyone in the small town gets together to watch, and the police make sure nothing gets out of hand. It is great to see a little town get together and have a great time.
