Went out of MDR on Saturday (3/27) for some bass action in the bay. Conditions were nice, a slight breeze with an open sky and water temp at 60 degrees. The “dogs” were everywhere sunbathing and chasing schools of baby macks. Bounced around to 3 different spots from 90’-45’. All fish were released to fight another day.
Highlight of the day was hooking up to a 6-7’ thresher and getting a few runs and jumps out of it before it cut me off.

Nice bass fishstix,
I remember when my son hooked up to a 4-5 footer on New Years Day, it was cool watching it jump out of the water.

I’m glad I was able to be out on the water but my original plan was to fish your usual stomping grounds :Secret: but I ended up cutting the drive short and just fishing local.

Once I set the hook and watched my line take off towards the surface I knew it was something different. Then when I saw the tail break water I was :Shocked: . It went from stern to bow in an instant and made a 2 jumps before cutting me off. Im happy that I was able to get an I.d but he fact that I even hooked up to a thresher……..PRICELESS!

good job out there mang...lets take out my boat soon...AND the spot where you caught your 1st swimbait fish should be good by now ;0) get at me mang.

Thank you SFE. I agree drift fishing is a great way to cover alot ground and work all the zones.
