I was not going to make the drive this morning as I woke up late, when everyone was launching. Anyways sucked it up and told myself I was going to fish the monhly potluck tourny.
Got to San Pedro aroudn 7:15 am and was on the water by 8. It was a tough day of fishing for me. I had a lot of catching but nothing of size or of the right kind.
Around 11am I finally hooked into a small 24" hali.

fished it hard for more sandbass and short halis but could not get an upgrade. The tourny was won by a 27 pounder, long but very skinny. There were quite a few legals caught and one big hali that was ripped off the top of a kayak by a big knot head, flipped the dude over. He was ok and did not lose any gear.
The best part as always is the food. Today's main course was Korean BBQ'd short ribs.
Here's a sample of what usually happens to any fish I keep for a fresh meal
