So I decided to head out to SARL this morning. Today was my third trip out to this lake. I didn't have any luck last time I was out, but I decided to give this place one more shot just just so I could tell myself "at least I tried...".
Got to the lake a little late around 7:15 ish and was debating whether or not to rent a boat. It was a little crowded around the bubble hole and that's where I had planned to go, so I decided to get the boat just so I could have the spot I wanted. Trolled from the docks to the hole with no bites...decided to throw a powerbait setup on one pole and a crawler setup on the other. I threw some bells on, laid back in the boat to relax, and tried to take a little nap (was on 3 hours rest). About 10 minutes later, to my surprise I heard one of the bells ring. I thought I accidentally kicked the pole or something so I gave it a good look before I moved it. Then outta no where, bam! Pole bends real nicely and I jump up so I dont loose the pole. I started to real her in and it didnt feel like a decent size fish at all. At about half way thats when the fish finally got spooked and decided to run. She fought hard and I thought I was going to loose her cause she went under the boat and I was on 2 lb test, but this is what I ended up with:

I think it was somewhere around the 4 lb mark....So I was stoked not to have to worry about the skunk anymore!
About an hour goes by with a couple bites here and there then I decided to move. I went down to what used to be called Levits Corner and this one guy on shore caught 2 within the first 5 minutes of me showing up. No luck for me on the trout, but I ended up with a small cat (let it go).

Sorry for the crappy photos. This was on my phone and I was by myself....
I stayed till about noonish and left for the day. All in all, it was a much better experience that I had previously and I had a blast. It was a great day out with just a slight bit of overcast till about 10 then it was perfect.
