I decided to fish the river since I have not been there in some time. I arrived in Blythe at about 1 am after work, unrolled the sleeping bag and slept in the car. Started fishing at about 6 am below Palo Verde dam. Hooked up on 2 cats in about 15 minutes, one about 2 and a half pounds, fun on the ultralight. Caught 4 total by 9, all on nightcrawlers and one small striper. Drove around for a while exploring, did not catch anything else. Checked into the roach motel in the early afternoon, showered, ate, slept a little while and was back out fishing by 4:30. Hit the canals for 3 smallies on a Rapala and was back out at the dam by 6. Managed one more smallie ont the rapala, packed up at 8, ate at the Dennys and went back to the room. Sunday morning I was back below the dam at 6 am.By 8:15 I had caught 2 more smallies, one on a crawler and one on an anchovy, one more cat on the chovy and 2 3lb stripers on anchovies. Was on the road by 8:30 because I had to be at work at noon in Moreno Valley. All in all, good fishing but nothing too big, but enough action to keep it interesting. Sorry, no pics, the wife won`t let me take digital fishing.
