To be honest I've always been a light tackle/plastics trout fisherman but with Castaic lagoon only being 30 minutes away and most decent trout lakes/rivers hour and a half plus I'm looking at getting into bass fishing.

How is the lagoon for bass fly fishing/spinning?

I've only ever really been like once before when I was younger.

I hardly know anything about fly fishing, but I know the fly rod world record bass was caught at the Lagoon, lol.

if you are into light spinning and plastics then you will do well at the lagoon.

for flyfishing it's all about matching the hatch. So make a trip out there check stuff out. Pay attention to the hatch there are loads of insects swimming around and then go back and slam um. They are within flyfishing range from the shore but you will have one hell of a time fishing some of the better spots of the lake with a fly rod. Stick with a spinning setup on 6 pound flouro and you'll be just fine. The lagoon is mos def a plastic lake IMHO.
