How many feet of rope do you need for castaic? Will 100ft due? I was thinking of buying some at wallmart for 32bucks or is their a better place with better deals. Im asking because the last time I rented a boat, it was drifting all over and was suprised that nobody gave me a beat down. I did manage to catch a few for my first outing for striper....now Im hooked but want to be prepared next time. Any info would be appreciated

At least 200 feet. When the anchor hits the bottom let an extra 30ish feet of rope go. Be sure and use aprox. 10 feet of chain.
Good luck.

I hear that people use 2 anchor. So should I buy 400ft of rope or would one ancho be sufficient?
Oh! man and thanks for the quick replies.

Lowe Boat is right at least 200 ft.
I just got 600 ft of 3/16" polypropylene rope at Harbor Freight in Pasadena for $17. It says it's 900 lb test. They don't have it on the Website. Item # is 47836.
I really like 2 Anchors.

I use the 150 ft anchor rope that you can get at Walmart. I found 150 ft to be fine, since I never fish much deeper than 100 ft.
