Sports Chalet Tournament 3/20/10

Today was the Sports Chalet Tournament put on by Kristie Enderly of Pure Fishing. The weather was nothing short of spectacular, however the weather put a little bit of damper on the bite. Still rumors of the one that got away ran rampat at the weigh in. I personally watched a fish come unglued that was easily a double digit and heard of two straightend hooks as well. Tons of fish in the 2-4 pound class where weighed in today and it was a tight race to the money and for the final 10 spots in the masters tournament.
Taking home the big price with a 4.14 Rainbow from Woody's Cove was Varian "junior" Virgen of Buena Park. Varian was using Chrt Eagle Claw Dough to bag his fish. And that fish was worth an astounding $1470!!!!

Congratulations to the winners and the qualifiers for the masters derby. On a side note I believe three of the top 10 allready qualified for the Masters Derby. Daniela will be on tommrow with more on that.

What a tough bite! Marley's List of Secret Spots had one entry match up with a hot tip and it paid off (thanks again, tipper). I was fortunate to catch three nice fish, all off the same hump, and my biggest was good enough for a top-ten finish. YAY!!!

Yeah, no kidding! It normally takes 6 pounds to break the top ten in this derby. They oughta be real hungry come next Saturday, too...
