What better way to spend a St. Patricks day than by catching GREEN BASS ALL DAY!!!!!:Big Grin::Big Grin:
Brian called me and told me that he wanted to get out to DVL to do some bass fishing with his son Nick.
So we set the trip up for yesterday (ST Patricks day) for some fun in the sun.
I met Brian and Nick at the lake when they opened and off we went..
Brian told me that He and His son Nick loved to fish but hadnt fished much for bass.. The few times they had been bass fishing they had gotten skunked.. I told them that that was about to change...:Wink:
We head to our first spot and both Nick and Brian watched for a few mintues so I could show them how to work the dropshot. On my 3rd cast I hook a solid DVL bass and thats all it took for the two of them to want to get started...
Brian and Nick were a BLAST to fish with. They have a great father/son relationship. The day was FULL of laughs, ribbing and trash talk....oh and lots of catching bass...
When we started the day, Brian and Nick made a bet on which one of them would catch the most bass.. If Nick caught the most bass, his dad would give him $50. If Brian caught the most bass, his son Nick would have to do and fold the laundry for a month.
Right from the get go Nick started the trash talk. And his dad began to dish it out himself, especially after he went up 2-0 on Nick..:Envious::Envious:
They caught bass here and there throughout the day on the plastics in 5-15 ft of water.
Nick also wanted to learn how to sight fish for bedding bass so he spent most of his day sight fishing for bass on beds. He did great at it too...with the exception of a hand full of bass that flat out schooled young Nick!! hahahahahaha sorry Nick. hahahaha
THERE WERE BED FISH EVERYWHERE !! This heatwave has brought up the bass full force onto their beds and surrounding areas...
At the end of the day Nick edged out his dad 11 bass to his dads 8. Both of them lost 4-5 bass each during the day as well. And Nick won $50 for his efforts.
Dad won the joy of being out there with his son having a great day on the lake and sharing quality time with his boy learning how to fish for bass...:Big Grin:
