Headed out of Ventura at six with BamBam and Eric. Found out that Ventura didn't have any bait so we ran the boat to Oxnard for some bait they just picked up the day before (most rolled in the late afternoon). The crossing was great, we were going to fish the same spot my buddy Eric picked up a few legal flatties last friday before the crappy weather. Fished all around the east end of Cruz for a cabazon and a few other fish we let go. Decided to fish rockfish since the water color was off and cold 54 at the island. We had a few decent drifts through the Gap area. Most shallow in the 150'-170' areas since my buddies not care for rock fishing. All in all a great day with good friends on the water. Boat ran great, T shirt weather all day, flat seas, cant go wrong.

Looks like a nice day out there from the pics Paddy. How big is the boat? What's your cruise and top speed on it? Looks like you got a single OB on there? I'm Looking to upgrade my 18 footer to something bigger to take offshore.

Good to see some of the pirate crew slaying the early season fish. Glad to see Bam Bam get on some fish too........He needed to get all of his Pelagic stuff fishy!
