This time i met up with another friend of mine who owns a boat (Dillon).

We decided to fish a deeper water off PV (around 120 ft)

Long story short we got a good pick at the rock cod and he ended up catching a nice sandie while i caught the biggest sheepshead of my life!

I was VERY tempted to keep this bad boy but i figured they do the ecosystem good so i set him free.

We headed in to pick up some friends and just cruised around in the amazing weather

The bait of choice today was fresh* cut mackerel on a dropper loop.

Good report and pics, (and friends :Thumbs Up::Dancing Banana::Thumbs Up:)

WTG on the Goat release too. Let them Goats eat urchins as see in ahhvtec's post.
More Sheephead = Less Urchins = More Kelp = More fish in your sack.


Few pictures to share from Friday's afternoon dive. Dove with Fkricter and work buddy. Shot a couple fish but no legal bugs to be had.

Hi Bishop Trouter,

WTG on the nice catches ........ the California Sheephead should be the california state fish not some dumb old glorified Goldfish !! Let the yellow be the official California Sportfish !!

Seems no legislators are interested ........ yea ..... I actually wrote !!

Summer weather in March.... I love California!
