I have never been to DVL, so I thought it best to have a pro show us around for the first time. Good plan right? well it would have been but the fish didn't get the memo.
Actually Megan and I had a great time (as always with Art Hill) we just didn't have that 30 fish day that we have grown accustom to on Art's trips. This was no fault of our terrific guide, it was just sloooooooow. I mean Art really worked his butt off trying to get us on fish all day, and we ended up going overtime by quite a while; we fished it hard! The good news: 1.) we spotted a lot of bass moving up (maybe 15 - 20 no beds yet, just a lot of fish checking out the shallows) 2) water temp was 62 and rising. The big kick in the teeth was when we were pulling the boat out, there had to be 30 - 50 bass swimming around in a big school at the launch ramp; most of them were rats, but there were a few hogs mixed in. (no joke I stopped counting at 20 something and there were many more) it blew my mind.
We did get a few, here are some pics:

mostly fished dropshot in a variety of color (actually all fish were caught on dropshot) we also threw jigs, under spinners, carolina rig, nothing seemed to work today other than dropshot.
