Jumped on another one of Denny's private charters on the spitfire Fri night. What a great night Eric and Jeremy worked there asses off. I ended up winning the jackpot with one of my bass:Big Grin: Gave it to the crew for their hard work.. Niel did great as well ,he had 2 bass and limit on sculpin. I had five bass and limit on sculpin too..
Denny it was great fishing with you again, see you on the next one my friend!

SEAFORTH 3/15
After seeing the yellow counts come back up a bit thought i would take advantage on having that Monday off. So i hit up Devon to see if he was down to roll to San Diego on Mon for a 3/4 day.
called point loma, they had 39 guys on reserve:EyePop: then i called seaforth they had 9. Thought about it for 1/2 a sec, lol we went with seaforth. and I'm glad we did... reason being we were the only boat that caught yellow tail that day!!:Big Grin:
Wake up at 2:00 pickup Devon at 3:00 and head to San Diego.. Get there in record time 4:30.
grab our tickets and jump on board with 12 guys total, nice!!!!

Sorry no pics of the action ,i was to busy cranking my a*s off!! but on the first stop we see a boil the cook fires off the iron and hooks up! another guy fly lines a sardine and gets hooked up!:EyePop: they were the lucky ones on the first stop. We move a little further down and the captains sees a good sign on the sonar,so we all drop our irons all of a sudden theirs hook ups every where!!
I start dropping the Jr 6x but the drop was taking too long so i switched to a heavier pl 68 much better. After my third set of cranks i get stopped by a yellow! It barely was giving me an inch at a time in cranks but i didn't want to pump and grind afraid that he'll spit the hook out. And im glad i did cuz once the captain gaffed it and dropped it on the boat floor the hook popped right out!
Unfortunately that was the beginning and the end of the yellow tail bite. We tried and tried other spots but they weren't having it. After a while we also tried for some rock fish but that wasn't that great.
So total was 12 anglers 11 California Yellow tail, 20 Rock fish, 2 Kelp Bas

Buddy Devon didn't have the streak of luck that day on a yellow, but didn't think it bothered him a whole lot since he's had his share of big game fish. But he did manage to beat the skunk with this nice calico on the iron.
