A nice shot of Bluegill spawning beds. Makes you want to throw out a little jig. It's almost that time again!

I'm surprised that no one has seen this at some of the lakes and parks. Most are smaller than this one and our local lakes are not always this clear, but if there are Bluegill in there, they will spawn like this. I know at Lake Perris the Gills and Redears do this, but it is in 8 to 10 feet or more so it's hard to see.

Wow, that is an awesome shot! Too bad I will be focusing 100% on bass when the spawn starts instead. I can't wait to see something like this soon!

Fire Ball... You don't know what you are missing bro! I love catching bass, don't get me wrong, but there is just something special about hooking into a pound or better BG on ultralight tackle! Fishing for big 'Gills and Redears is just so much fun. In the last couple of years, my favorite fish has changed from bass to Bluegill.

fishmounter I agree i love a nice big bass but i love the pan fish just as much if not more 1 1/2 lb red ear pulls damn hard on 2 lb tackle and the taste great as i car my bass

Awesome photo of something some us rarely get a chance to see! I agree 100% about the fun of catching those little scrappers. Throw ultralite tackle into the mix and get ready for a blast!

pretty sure thats right around the corner from my house looks very familiar i know that spot BIGGGGGGGGGG bass also
