Hello again. Took my weekly Castaic Lake fishing trip as usual. Dan (Lowe Boat) offered to take me out on his boat. Good thing because my pops borrowed my truck, so if it was not for Dan I would not have been able to do my weekly Castaic fishing trip. Anywho, it was a decent day fishing. Not as good as last week, but fun nonetheless. I did not expect a epic fishing trip. The barometer was off and the air was chilly. Not a good sign, but we made the best of it. Here are the pictures in time:

Late for fishing. One thing I hate being late for. Plan for the day was to wake up early and head over to the west ramp and do some trout fishing that was just stocked the day before. Fish til 7 then head over to the main ramp and meet up Dan for some striper fishing. Definitely did not work out as plan. Had some drinks with my friends the night before, so waking in time was kind of hard. 7:22 and I barley got to the lake. Would have been a lot later if I had not taken the coupe. The 45 degree cold did not help my hang over whatsoever.

Started the day with a nice bendo

Large unit bendo! There is nothing like catching large units on lite line.

Having the fish bigger than the net is not a bad problem.

http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a102/dattrinh/IMG_0830.jpg
The fish looks longer.

Parting shot. Showed up to fish with Ricky a couple days ago to fish, but got turned away due to the winds. We decided to have lunch on the lake and watch the people trying to retrieve their boat with 2-3 foot waves.

Hope you had fun fishing with me this week. See you all in a couple of days.

I dont understand how you guys do it. I was out last Sunday at the same spot you were and got skunked.
I've been using sardins but no love whatsoever.
Your post makes me wanna go out again but damn skunks are always on my back.
Any tips for the skunk master?

Kencor for 20 bucks is a steal. It is hella windy out there for the next couple days. Be safe out there.

You just gotta have some patience. When I go out there, I dont even think about catching a whole mess of fish. I dont even care if I just catch 1. Just enjoy the time out and the fish will come to you. I keep experimenting until I find the right combo. Sometimes they are are deep, sometimes they are high. Sometimes they want a small chunk. Sometimes they prefer my rotten bait then my new pack. Your welcome to ask me anything.

Yes the large units are damn tough. I was never a freshwater fisherman. I have always fished saltwater. Love the offshore stuff. Until I caught my first big striper and the fight it gave, I was hooked.

Good report and nice stripers.

Thanks. It is my fishing journal. This site can keep a better record then writing it on a notepad.

I was at 65-75. Right now they hate anything higher. Lower than 120 for me is a bust.

Yea, they were nice size. I was fortunate to keep running into them for the past couple of weeks.

Thanks for all the other replies from the other post that I did not get to respond back too. I was not forum savy enough back then.

I been watching those yellows. The winds keeps coming up when I ready to go. I think this upcoming week I am going to get a shot at them.
