Again the weather dominated the week with more rain and on Tuesday morning I awoke to very gusty winds that were also predicted to affect the shores as well!
This week’s adventure again led me to another on foot trip to NPH but this time I had some friends join me for a long overdue reunion.
With plans to meet Tesserz & Jaysuuun in the harbor for an evening session of working the Spotties I was out to recon the area prior to their arrival.
Hit the highway heading toward the harbor and was slowed by this vehicle as I got onto the freeway in the LA Cresenta area. Assume it was going to Santa Fe Dam, Peck Road Park, Legg Lake, and the Pudd after looking at the DFG site!

Took a different route today to peak at the surf conditions on the way and possibly throw a few casts into Huntington Harbor and attempt a day of catching Spotties from 2 harbors in a day. Conditions at Warner and PCH were a constant 20 Mph wind with blowing sand across PCH. The surf was very mixed with big wind waves in the mix!
Continued on to NPH and found conditions were also not favorable. Flags were blowing directly side ways at a vigorous pace in the area I was planning to fish! It took some adjusting to cast to keep the line from blowing onto the docks. Lost a few swim baits in the process.
The first action was on a Flattie but it was not to be! I will not go into the details of another fish story! I just retied and got this monster YFC to start the recovery process!

Followed by a decent Spottie!

and a few future brutes!

I then received the call from Jaysuuun that they had arrived. Met up and discussed a little strategy and were off.
Jaysuuun was the first to score with another of his quality harbor Spotties sporting his new Team 57 gear he picked up at the FH Show!

Tesserz was quick to follow sporting her “57” beanie!

Tesserz then picked up a pancake flattie that managed to escape as there was no beach to land it! We will work on that technique next time!
Jasuuun picked a few others that Tess has pics of.
And Jaysuuun picked up another nice one!

Thanks for the company out there Tess & Jason. Glad you 2 got on some Spottie’s as usual. It is hard to believe a year has passed since our last outing!
We shall do it again soon! Hopefully on the Spotted Fever!
