Bad Boyz on the SPITFIRE 3/7/10 cut short

Had this trip planned for quite a while. Met the boyz up at MDR around 6:00 with of Cappo, Larrisa and Oz there already. We boarded the boat while we will still waiting on Victor101,Bucket Bay, Odium, and H-bomb. They got there around 6:28am lol. They boarded and we where off to the bait barge for some fin bait. As we past the breakwall wind was blowing pretty hard, but we continued on.

We went about 7 miles out for some rockfish. Finally got to the spot after a 30-45 min drive. First few drops nothing was hitting , pretty slow with a few small and decent sized rockfish coming on board.

After after 2 hours of this slow fishing with the current and wind picking up the captain decides to make a run to the beach.

Between spots Cappo gets bored with no fish biting he decides to break out the kite on a whopper stopper with a mxj 2 speed haha.

We ended up at Venice reef. Fished the spot for a couple of hours. A few small calicos, sculpin and 1 decent sized sand bass. Fish weren't in the mood to bite at all. As the wind began to pick up Captain called Victor101 to the wheelhouse to see if we wanted to continue on or just hit the barn early as the wind would reach 25mph. We made the call to cut the trip short which i think was the right choice. Docked by 11:30 am. Everyone was issued a 1/2 off coupon to their next trip. I ended up with the jackpot with the loan sand bass. Weighted in a 4.5lbs.

I just got home...had a great weekend at the Fred Hall Show and Fishing despite the weather. We made the best of it.

It was great running into everyone at the show!

yeah it woulda been a hell of a lot better if it was better weather and wide open fishing but thats just an excuse to do it again ....

oyeah just some advice...
when you use the fullsize pics you have to cut your written report down to 3/4 a page
instead of using the hole screen so you can read it without having to use the bar to follow the words across the screen.
