Fished for an hour throwing white spinner bait and 1/2 ounce rattle trap for nothing. Saw a few small gills and LMB. Nothing biting, water is real murky, almost caught a pit bull. Thing swam out and i didn't even notice until my rattletrap was going straight for him. Luckily no dog today.

Anyone ever fish the pond inside Calvary Chapel Bible Center?

You know what? That pond smells really bad. I fished there many years ago but never caught anything. Ive heard that there are decent catfish and bass there. But again, that was in like 2000

Watch out for the Beaver if you fish at night...you have been warned

Watch out for the cops if you fish there at night. They will write you up a trespassing violation in a heartbeat. $400 fine, minimum. That is a great spot though. My good buddy Joey fishes there quite a bit. I'm sure you've prolly seen him there before. He's got that spot dialed in. -Rich

this lake is too small to withstand any FNN popularity...

I have had fun here before its a place to swing by after work for 1/2 an hour. Ive caught a few small bass and blue gill. I also have seen the beavers, they are gnarly big! Scared the junk out of me when i saw them. Never fished it at night and probably wont now. This spot will never be popular on FNN, just not that type of place...

Nah. There are actually a small family of beavers in there. I've seen the big one a few times. He's pretty friendly. As far as fishing at night. There is a sign posted at the entrance next to the monument that informs you of the Park hours as well as the rules...

That pond is over fished and doesn't hold nearly as much Bass as it used to. You technically cannot fish there unless you are staying there you will be kicked out when approached.

Has anyone fished the golf course just adjacent to it?

The beavers are definetly still at Pond Park, I saw 3 different ones Monday night (9/13/10). I also saw a very large albino catfish , probably around 15 pounds, swimming along the shoreline around 8:30pm. I was within 4 feet of the fish, and am positive it was a catfish.
Other than that there is not much in the Pond, few small gills and some large tales from a couple regulars about huge bass (I call shenanigans).

I actually witness someone catching 2 LMB (1 at 8lbs and another at 6lbs on a red rattle trap). I also used to fish with Mike "maddog" (I think was his usename) there and he would throw big swimbaits and nail some good ones next to the tulle island. Biggest one I landed there was 4 1/2 lbs. The go to bait there is twitching a silver/black floating rapala size 5.

the pond is alive and well. the "stories" you speak of are true. definately release everything you catch and it will be back to how it was in the early 90's. kick over the buckets and persuade the "bluegill" fisherman, and there are many, to knock it off and the pond will do fine. excellent fishery.

the "stories" are BS!
There is nothing in that but very small bluegill, beavers, ducks. There isnt any food base for anything to grow in that lake. The "locals" talk about "bass" but in 5 years I have yet to see one caught or one in the water there.
Feed the ducks and enjoy yourself, no bass to be found

I'm not familiar with this pond in Murrietta, but there is a secret pond near Temecula that is loaded with big bass.

That place in Temecula is epic for Big Bass if you are an expert.
