Hit up Lake Piru and the Fillmore Hatchery last weekend on my motorcycle just for the ride and to feed the trouts and see the lake water level.

Been like 20 years since I've been to the hatchery or the lake out there. Good times.
Pics are crappy because they are via iPhone.
Enjoy

Oh yeah, also here is one from washed out Azusa canyon the next day. Crazy high water levels. I bet the fish are enjoying all the rain this year in Socal.

Nice pics Casey. NICE bike, but it's Harley for me bro. You know Piru can be just an awesome bass lake from about now until June. Tie up on one of those small points you see near the dam and fish plastics slowly uphill. We used to use small green crawdads and just kill the bass and big Redear.

Nice Piru recon pics, good to see some water in that lake again...I wonder if Reasoner Cove has a fair amount of water in it yet.

Thanks for the post TJ.

Thanks guys.
The bike takes me to all the waters.
Been all over Malibu lately. Too much snow in the bigger hills.
Had a few more pics but had to hold them back for now. Best to wait until things are set in stone. lol
May be relocating to that side of LA soon.
Gotta find some folding bass rods to fit on the back seat or something. Walmart jobbers.
I can bring my lil 3wt fly rod no problem though cause it breaks down in 3 pieces and is only 5' to begin with.

I do get my groove on a bit.

Thinking of taking it up to Bishop this summer. My mummy bag and tent should strap right on no problem I think. Could drive up to the lower O. for $8, camp for $15 and make it back for another $8. Only problem is the fish there kick my butt on a three weight. Seriously I need some good multi piece rods. (Never thought I'd say that)

Great pics of the water. Is that bridge the one going from the main road over to the East Fork? If so the resivoirs must be at full pool. If you actually decide to go to Bishop on the bike let me know, I might join you. Been wanting to do that trip for a while, just waiting for that white fluffy crap to quit falling.
Mulholland Hwy... My favorite section of roads to go draggin knee in So cal... Used to do the trip long time ago. We would wake up at just after hangover:30, grab some grub at one of the local dive eatieries in Santa Monica. Head up PCH and make a right turn on Latigo Canyon. I really miss that road. Used to be when the cops were patrolling the Rock Store area, we would head over to Latigo and have lots of fun. Go to the rock store grab lunch and a beer hang around for a while... This was before all the RUB's, grab a few beers and head up to the look out and do a couple of runs up and down the hill usually to the pink driveway at the bottom, turn around and race back up. Around 1 to 2 the CHP would show up and start writing tickets.. We would usually buy another 6 pack from the store at Kanan and Troutdale and head back on Mulholland to Stunt road and then take it to the lookout and just kick back the rest of the day and enjoy the scenery. Miss those days..

Casey,

Good to see back on the boards! Hopefully all of our local ponds will fill this winter!

Stopped by the hatchery myself a few months back and spent a few bucks feeding the youngsters myself!

I hope to take the same step you took a few months back and have some extra gas and tackle money!
