I have read reports on the forum and people will say they are catching fish at 10ft or fish are holding at 40ft----- does this mean fish where the bottom is 10 and 40 ft respectivly. or does it mean that you can catch fish at these depths anywhere on the body of water- lets use the 10 ft ex. can you fish your lures 10 ft down in water that is realy 50 ft deep- and the fish will be at the 10 ft level? NEXT- I have read the term slow rolling a lure or rolling a bait- what does this mean?

From my understanding with the depth issue it is from the surface.

Also the slow rolling part can be when you are trolling along at a slow pace, most commonly also when you are additionally casting out with another lure.
