I see our friends at the DWP have jacked up the water flows on the Lower Owens. Its running at 382 cfs, where it had been about 80 cfs for some time. I can only assume it will go much higher, which makes fishing somewhat difficult. If they raise the flows like they did in 2006 after a heavy snow year, it will run at flood stage, 600 cfs for most of the year.

That would really not be good.

Thank you DWP for screwing everyone over right before Blake Jones!

Well, from a historical perspective, this is like shaving hair from an elephant compared to how LADWP has rolled in the past. Fisheries integrity is NOT a priority with that bunch, and water or property rights are just speed bumps they drive around.

Every year around this time of the year the flow goes way up. This was expected and necessary due to the amount of rain/snow and runoff that has and will occur. I don't think that LADWP schedules the Blake Jones or other tournaments so this time it's a little hard to blame them I think, THIS TIME.
