Hit up the park in the rain for some catfish caught about 15 or so but this was the highlight of my day on 4lb line fought this sucker for about 20min I have not caught a carp this size in a while. Gotta love how hard these guys fight on light line fish was 25plus lb for sure.

Yea a cookie and a beer please.

Had a couple pm's with guys trying to fish carp here is some help if needed.

The baits I like to use is corn; add sugar and vanilla extract. Or go to the local grocery store and buy MASA its in the dough section then add the Vanilla Extract and sugar also, add water nead the masa into a firm dough. The setups I normally fish for carp on is a setup similar to a trout setup 7-8 1/2 ft ultralight rod and a reel with the capacity to hold at least 140yards of 4lb line. I have 280yards of 4 on mine and almost got spooled multiple times by the 30 plus pounders. Used a size 14-16 small treble hook with a BB splitshot most my carp are caught in 30ft casting range. I generally don't cast further than that for carp they tend to cruise the shore. The lakes that I have fished for carp with great success is Santa Fe Dam, Legg Lake, Echo Park, Lake Elsinore, Puddingstone (bonelli Park), El Dorado Park, Tri City. Most of you local city park will have a good number of carp. Also if you look on the main thread section of FNN's home page there is a detailed carp fishing guide.

That sure is a DD, no matter how you hold it. Now go back to fishing for the real DD. Just kidding, I 'd love to catch a carp that big.

Very Nice. Man I've seen those things swimming in packs of 4 or 5 in the summer time at that size. Wow!

I dont know I never eaten a carp before. I release 95% of the fish I catch out of the lake occasionally I only keep a couple trout or cat. But my buddy says they are good he makes Caldo out of them.
