View Full Version : Second time at the lagoon and got me a fatty

After my first time yesterday to the lagoon i already knew i was goin back today.
I got a late start because my truck tripped the "check engine" light comming home
from the goon lastnite.I talked with ray lopez and fishtale lastnite and it was clear
we were meetin up again. So i woke up early this morning and headed to aamco
transmission for a free computer scan to find it was a EGR vacuum sensor, i then
drove to my local dealership which is only two blocks from my house spoke with a
few good buddies of mine and had a new one in within 5mins for a cost of only
$62.00 ( i installed it) and was home loading up the gear grabbed my beautiful
girl and headed to the goon for some fun in the sun. I pulled up around 12:30pm
opened my door stepped out and saw fishtale in his bad a** bullitt mustang pull up.
we shoot the shad for a minute while i swallow a cheese burger to fuel up for my
eye crossing hook sets and my mile long power casts of the day.

We started off at ramp No.1 and work our way to where we met up with ray lopez
and his buddy rob only to walk up and see it in rays eyes...he gotta fatty,he told us the story
(congrats again ray)

we fished and talked never giving up and just enjoyed the good
weather and good company. I take a quick pic of a pro goon master butch brown
(for autographs one day)

we continue a bit more with no luck by that time it was
2:00pm the sun was shinning and no luck for any of us. By that time ray and rob
had to leave but it wasnt like they were leaving a WFO bite so we
(fishtale,me,my lady) just sat it out and never gave up we kept saying...when that
sun hits those mountains the fish will bite, "quoted from a pro" so we just kept casting
and casting drop shot ox blood of coarse.

..first up was fishtale with a nice bass and that was the start of the
excitement.

..about 10mins later i was up next, i power casted my D.S ox blood robo
into deep water as i was chit chattin with fishtale and i feel the thump...i swing with
my eye crossing hook set and feel the power of a fatty on the other end...it comes
straight up far out in the water and jumps like a foot out the water and makes a
splashing sound i could only compare to a fat guy belly flopping...i swear it echoed
thru the canyon..so the fight was on...it swam left i cranked right...it swam right i
cranked left, during the fight fishtale asked me if i wanted a action shot and i replied
hell no... i just wanna land this fish...he says take it easy...and i say skrew that so i
horse it onto the shore....VICTORY IS MINE!!!!!

not bad for my second time at the goon......watch out ray lopez here comes fishbones J/k.

By that time my lady was talkin sh*t saying i wanna catch a fatty...you suck..so on and
so on all in good fun of coarse and i keep telling her bass fishing is a art form and in due
time you will be next...she rolls her eyes and laughs at me like im crazy.

..just then i see her swing and scream "fish on" ..she got the hook set in and two good
tugs and mr bass spit the hook....she was so excited but yet sad and upset...so i continue
to preach the teachings of the art form of bass fishing and bust her balls a little.

The bite didnt stop just yet...fishtale hooks up again for a nice one, i get bit missed one,
fishtale lands another nice guy, i hook up with another nice one,and the last one of the
night nice fish by fishtale.

We called it a night at around 8:00pm and headed home just thinking about tomorrow.
.LOL...yeah i will be there...think im crazy....for sure....over all this place rocks and
i cant wait to fish the hell out of in the next few months.......fishbones

you have a cute girl there!! the fact that she is down to sit at the lake with you and not catch anything and still be down shows she's a keeper...haha. any girl i have ever taken fishing just cries and complains. some action on the lake beats a slow day fishing though...aaaaaayyyyyaaahhh

Hey fishbones it was good getting together again and you have a super cool girl there.
Also thank you Ray it was good to meet you and thanks for the tips , I fished that drop
shot most of the night for few bass.
OH Ray its cool I think I caught most of the dinks there lol, so go back and get yourself
another DD !!!

you have a cute girl there!! the fact that she is down to sit at the lake with you and not catch anything and still be down shows she's a keeper...haha. any girl i have ever taken fishing just cries and complains. some action on the lake beats a slow day fishing though...aaaaaayyyyyaaahhh

Niiiiiiiiiiice awesome fish bro it took me a few good months before i landed any piggys like that one. Bet that felt good man 2nd trip land a 5+ pounder. Like i was telling ya this is gonna be a good year, i feel it in my bones man. I hope you kill it today. Wish i could get out there but the honey do list is loading up since most of my time was spent on the lake this week lol.

Also i feel honored to meet the hidden man in the pics fishtale lol . I'm happy to see all three of you got on some fish. I told ya man the bass are gonna bite right as the sun hit the top of the mountains. Captain Castaic told me you caught that fatty last night when he called me.

Hope to fish with the three of you again, and we need to get your girl on some fish.

Wow...you guys killed it. I think I am heading there tomorrow, rain or shine.

Got my nice Camo Green Super Thick rain gear and newly siliconed waterproof boots.

Now if I could just find a way to keep cigarettes lit in the rain...then I will have no problems!!

hold it like a joint and keep it under your palm trust me it works like a charm for both types of smoke tried and true!!!!!!

I might go tomorrow in the rain if I really feel like it. I will definitely go on Sunday though.
