I promised Dan (Lowe Boat) that I fish with him before his surgery on 2/24. I realize it was 2/22 so I called him up to go kill some some stripers before his big day. Met Dan at 7:30 at Castaic in the parking lot. We decided on the spot to hit for the day. I was at odds deciding which spot to hit. We agreed on the blue chip spot that was producing recently and headed out. Dan was nice enough to take me on his boat. I did not have to tow my aluminum skiff out there, which is a welcomed change. Fishing again was excellent. We had quite a few large units. We bust off a couple and had plenty of miss bites. Otherwise we have limited out in the morning time. Enough of my rambling, I need some sleep. Here is todays stills:

Here is how the day started. A large unit that fell victim to Gallions pack of sardines. Sucker.

Here is another jailbird. Not as big as the first one, but very notable.

When the school bus was not around, we got these.

These two are the dead give away to where we were. Find these guys and you found our spot. These two love sardines. They will circle your boat the whole day, if you feed them just once. Dont let their cute fuzzy feather fool you. They will steal your bait on your hooks if they get the chance.

We also got one of these. Released it. They do more to help the lake than harm it like the stripers do.

We ended the day with this one.

Here is Dan picking up the days bounty stringer from the water before we headed back to the ramp. We had a good day.

I kept two for mom and pop.

and two more for my neighbor who puts up with the weekly fish smell and the noise from my work garage.

To give you an idea of the size of the fish. Here is my pops modeling another pair.

Parting shot. It was like glass out there in the evening.
Hope you enjoyed fishing with me again. I know we missed last week. We'll make up for it with a double trip. Good luck on the surgery Dan. Thanks for taking me out on your boat.
