"Mother Nature" unleashed some raw power to my former "BackYard" and caused me to make some life changes in the past month and there for my lack of presence on the boards! Well after making a hard fought month long move into the civilized world from my former "Beloved Backyard" things settled down to allow me a few moments to get back to reality!

I was able to spend a little time in the harbor this past week! Although the bite was not the hottest I was able to get on a few my pets to come out and play!

A few of Mother Nature shots!
No more road to get the Spotted Fever out to the Harbor. Thankfully I had her evacuated from the canyon!

We now have to abide by city rules! Put out the trash on this day, no parking on this day. etc. that most of you live by on a daily basis.

Now to the report!

Went down on Sunday afternoon after finishing off the last of the moving chores and arrived at 1500 hours. Just a very weird tidal movement of only 1 low and 1 high tide for the day!

A Spotfin Croaker was the first to come out and play. A first for me on the artificial bait. Thankfully I was in a very open spot as she made some nice runs before being beached and released!

Just another relaxing day in the harbor to focus all my energy on fun instead of the drama!

Till next time!!!!

Great to see you found some time to fish Steve. I know you had a lot on your plate past last month or so.
I'm trying to get back out there myself... but more rain coming for the weekend.
We can't let Mike get too far ahead of us on the legal Flatties count.

Really sorry to hear that you had to relocate. Sometimes the best way to weather the storm is to just go fishing.. It looks like you didn't have too much trouble finding the fish. It seems like every weekend we are getting hit with a new storm or a high surf advisory. I'm glad to see you made it out to catch some fish which is more than I can say for myslef..

Bones has certainly been staying ahead of the pack taking advantage of the breaks in the weather during the week. I envy you guys. I can't wait to get out there. It seems like I have been saying this all winter but hopefully we will have some better weather in the weeks to come so we can get together and do some fishing. Thanks for the Report Steve. As always well done my friend.

Sorry to hear about your forced relocation. That arroyo/riverbed so close to the house would make me nervous everytime it rains!! Seemed like you had a really nice "nature" thing going on for a while.

By the way, nice fish & keep up with the "therapy". It's what keeps us sane.

Hey Steve,
The important thing is no one was hurt in all the aftermath.
Very nice looking sfc and sbb. I couldn't tell the size of the hali, but since you didn't report size I'm sure it wasn't a legal.
Thanks for the report and pics. God Bless You & Your Family.

Steve,

So sorry to see that you had to relocate. As I have shared with you before, I can remember all the years of "Outdoor Adventure" Therapy that my staff and I had with our clients suffering from emotional disturbance in your back yard from 2001-2007. That was a very serene place where we would either hike or bike. I didn't even know you then, but the kids loved talking to your dogs through the fence, it was very therapeutic, I can only imagine how awesome it was to live there. I feel like a part of my history is washed away with that road! I know that I'm playing my heart strings :No Pity:so I will stop.
Awesome report. It looks like you rpets did come out to play.
Best of luck to you in the "world"

As the Amish said to John Booke in the movie Witness, "Be careful out there amongst them English!"

Steve, I am very sorry hear about your forced move. I always enjoyed reading your trout reports, and hope that one day you can move back to your idyllic home or at the very least the same area. Dealing with civilization is a pain, but I wish you the best in your current situation.

All that aside, way to hit the harbor and pull on some chunky fish! That SFC is solid, and those spotties aren't too bad either. One of these days we need to fish the harbor so I can learn a few spotty tricks from you.

All the best,

Marc

Cpt. Steve,
Glad you got some Harbor Therapy to relieve all the stress from Mother Nature. Fishing sure makes the sun shine on cloudy days :Envious:.
Sooo happy Spotted Fever did well also, looking forward to more spottie reports soon to come.

Yeah man, its a bummer. Arroyo seco used to be a mile from my house.. Hopefully the fishery will be able to recover from all the fire damage

Hmmmm, I suppose I am sorry that you had to move to safer but ground, but at least now we can rest easy that all is safe! I dont think the arroyo will be back to what we were used to for a very long time :Crying:.

Now for the fishing, glad to see you were able to find some time to get in some fishing with all that was going on. Apparantly the fishing on foot is like riding a bike for you, you never really forget how to do it.

We will have to start making some plans to get out on the boats before the next season of destruction rolls upon us and we have no time.

Take Care Stevo

Steve,

you have been in Fishboy, and my hearts and minds the past several weeks.

Sorry to hear of your forced move, I know how painful it is to be removed from your home.

Glad to see you got a little time to relax and reflect.

The hard part is going to be living amongst the FLATLANDERS.................

Steve, it's nice to see you get out there and get some fishing time in after your forced relocation. Hadn't seen you on the board in awhile, so Eddie updated me during our lobster trip last week. Glad to hear that all is well with you and your family. In your absence I thought maybe you got tired of fishing. LOL Glad to see you back my friend.
