My partner Jorge has been a busy boy the year......he assumed the vp role at Dos Pueblos High school, and life involving fishing, as we knew it, stopped. I've been telling him that if he doesn't get back out on the water soon, he'll forget all the nifty stuff we learned doing this. Finally, I got his attention with a report from a buddy yesterday, and we made a plan. The waves were big today, and we fished the incoming from low to high. Jorge started off with the kalin's morf grub, and I chose an X-Rap jerkbait. My LC's fell out of my fanny pack on a previous excursion, so I'm using my bass stuff for now. Jorge started it off, and they were all pigs today. He and I had a dozen each, with the average over 12 inches, and the biggest being over 2 pounds. We also caught one flat one, although short. I switched up to a different, jerkbait, caught a couple on that, then went to the 3 inch big hammer with 3/8 yellow head. We caught on everything that we threw, and had a blast. Jorge's hip waders were leakin, and as we were getting ready to wrap it up, a rogue wave knocked me over into the water, so we decided we had had enough. I was almost back to the trail, and decided to throw out one more time, and a grumpy perch bent me over, and left me with a taillesss swimbait. A good ending to a great beach day. Here's some pics.
