How can you add wights to a crankbait. I bought some crankbaits but didnt relize they were for top water. Also how much should I add.
Thanks, Pigeon381

I wouldn't recommend weighting your crankbaits because it will most likely change the manufactured action of your lure.
If a lure was made to be a topwater lure, it was made to be a topwater lure. Don't try to make it dive, or more likely, sink. Buy the right tool for the right job.

Either wrap a thin lace of lead around the front treble hook (Lead core line good for that just strip the outer fabric material off then wrap a couple of inches of the wire around the treble).
Or
Drill a little hole in the bottom you your lure and fill it with a couple of BB's then glue the hole to seal it after (more weight for casting & louder rattle for presentation ).
Good luck.
